Bob Dylan - Possum Belly Overalls (Bootleg, 1969/70)

The sound quality on this bootleg is very good. Most of the 1970 material is available through the CBS Studios Reference Recording archives. It was produced by Bob Johnson. This session also produced the "If Not For You" version that was released on the official  "The Bootleg Series Vol. 1-3". Produced by Bob Johnson as well, this session was three days after the "Nashville Skyline" LP was recorded in the same studio, with different musicians. The cover art is from a very rare 1973 Japanese CBS / Sony 7" vinyl single release of "A Fool Such As I b/w Lily Of The West". It was drawn by Japanese artist Nov Yabuki.

Some corrections:

With the exception of the two bonus tracks, all tracks are from the May 01, 1970 New York session with George Harrison -- see
http://www.bjorner.com/DSN01790%201970.htm#DSN01810

Line-up is Bob Dylan (guitar & vocal), George Harrison (guitar), Charlie Daniels (bass, backup vocal), Russ Kunkel (drums), Bob Johnston, piano,
George Harrison, shared vocal on "Your True Love".

Back in 1991, I interviewed Charlie Daniels about this session, and he confirmed it was "Russ Kunkle" (his spelling) on drums -- see
http://bobdylanroots.blogspot.de/2011/02/charlie-daniels-interview-by-manfred.html

The two bonus tracks are indeed from May 03, 1969, from a Nashville recording session which also yielded "Take A Message To Mary" and "Blue Moon" (both released on "Self Portrait") -- see
http://www.bjorner.com/DSN01679%201969.htm#DSN01730
