Bert Brecht & Kurt Weill - Die Dreigroschenoper (Wiener Volksoper, 1955)


The complete score is sung in German by the stars of the Vienna Opera (Wiener Volksoper), recorded in 1955. It was originally released in the same year in Austria on the Amadeo label. There were severel releases in other countries. The recordings were electronically rechanneled in stereo for the 1968 re-release on Vanguard.

The cover is from the German release on the Karussell label.

The recordings were originally released in 1955 on the Amadeo label. Amadeo was owned by Amadeo Österreichische Schallplatten Aktiengesellschaft, which was founded in the 50ties by Vanguard (Austrian Vanguard Recording Society).
